NEW BEGINNINGS

It’s always intimidating to start your own business and so many ‘what if’ scenarios pop into your mind that you are eventually so overwhelmed that you don’t know where to begin.  To make this bold step a little easier, we have compiled a list of essential start up branding tools that you should have in your arsenal before taking the plunge.

  1. First and foremost is a Logo.  This is imperative, as it will set the tone of your business and also establish a ‘picture’ for your clients to remember you by.  Your logo should also carry a tagline (a catchy one if possible), so that people can see from the outset what your business does.

  2. A Website.  This can be as basic as a simple 1 pager, to start off with, but people need a place to go to if they want more information about you.  Consider that your logo is seen in passing traffic or on a business card, the first thing someone will do is go to the internet and try get more information about you and your contact details.

  3. Business cards.  This is important if you are going to be meeting with clients or doing any kind of cold-calling. You need something for you clients to remember you by and also have your contact details on.

  4. Letterhead.  If you will be doing any sort of proposal, quotation or invoicing to clients, you will need to ensure that you have a professional look and feel to all your documentation.  This will also make sure that your brand is built into their minds.

These are the top 4 items that we would recommend any start up business have in place before starting their marketing campaigns.  Optional extras, like email signatures, email templates, powerpoint presentations, adverts/pamphlets, etc.  are nice to have, but are something that your business can grow into.
